Stop the Bus!  Rules of Play. 

One person shouts out a letter of the alphabet.  Everyone writes this next to the word “letter” at the top of the column. 

Someone then shouts “Start the bus!” and each person goes down the first column, writing down a name, a food or drink, something you wear, an animal and a country beginning with the chosen letter. 

As soon as someone has found a word for each category he shouts “Stop the bus!” and everyone must stop writing – even if they haven’t completed all the categories. 

The person who stopped the bus then says which words they have put down for each category.

If anyone else has the same word for a category, then both people need to cross that word off their list.  You can only score a point for words that no-one else has written down.  (The secret of the game is not to be the quickest, but the most original.) 

Once each person has said which words they have chosen, the one with the most allowable words is the winner. 

Can be played by two or more people, but is most fun with as many as possible.
